Persevering Through Trial
© By: David L. Cooper

Lord I tire: oh, oh, I tire
Fighting this old body and its evil desire

Trying to save those that I love every day
Struggling, Jesus, to follow your way

Sometimes it's hard lord to do the things that you ask
But your burden is so much lighter that the sins of my past

And in you, Lord Jesus, I can see the end of my race
Knowing victory is secure, anchored fast in your grace

So, Lord, buffet me each time I'm weak and complain
Teach me to be happy whenever I can suffer for your name

Train me to be like your example way back when
Let me look past my petty sorrow, your sweet victory to win

Sometimes we complain when Christ has given us eternity.
